South Sudan’s Foreign Minister Holds Talks with Sudanese counterpart

South Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Mande Semaiha, arrived in Port Sudan, eastern Sudan, on Saturday for an official visit to discuss relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them.
The South Sudanese Minister was received at Port Sudan Airport by Foreign Minister Muhyiddin Salim, a number of ministry officials, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the South Sudanese Embassy in Khartoum.
The Sudan News Agency reported that Semaiha will hold talks with his counterpart, Muhyiddin Salim, on bilateral relations and ways to develop them in light of the challenges facing the two countries.
The two-day visit program includes meetings with a number of senior Sudanese officials.
This is Semaiha’s first visit to Sudan since assuming the Foreign Ministry portfolio, April this year.
Semaiha had stated on Friday that his country was exerting diplomatic efforts and communicating continuously with regional and international partners to help reach a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Sudan and secure a ceasefire in Sudan.
