SAF: Mercenaries Killed in El-Fasher
Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Wednesday announced that it had killed a huge number of foreign mercenaries who had infiltrated the city of El Fasher North Darfur state.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rely on foreign mercenaries, particularly former members of the Colombian military, to train its fighters in guerrilla warfare tactics and drone operations, and they have also used them in their ground assault on El-Fasher.
In a statement, the 6th Infantry Division said, “Our forces have successfully ambushed a large group of Colombian and Ukrainian mercenaries, killing many of them.”
The statement indicated that these foreigners, including drone and systems engineers, had infiltrated residential areas with the aim of reaching fortified buildings.
It added, “Our forces were ready for them and have successfully repelled them. Other elements, including prominent RSF commanders, were equally killed in the Karkar area east of El-Fasher.”
Army-affiliated media outlets have been broadcasting video footage showing the bodies of numerous RSF fighters killed on the southern axis while attempting to advance into the city center, according to a field commander with the joint force allied with the army in El-Fashir
