Sudan’s PM to Visit Saudi Arabia

Sudan’s Ministry of Energy has announced that Prime Minister Kamil Idris will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the middle of this month, heading a high-level delegation.
According to a statement issued by the ministry on Thursday, Idris is scheduled to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Energy Minister Al-Mutassim Ibrahim confirmed that several projects and studies are ready to establish a strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy. He said these include initiatives with Aramco and companies specializing in the manufacturing and assembly of electrical transformers—projects expected to generate mutual benefits for both nations.
During his meeting with Saudi Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jafar on Thursday, the minister emphasized the deep ties between the Sudanese and Saudi peoples, praising the Kingdom’s support for Sudan and its role through the Jeddah talks to end the war in Sudan.
The meeting also reviewed prospects for cooperation in electricity and petroleum sectors.
For his part, Ambassador Jafar reiterated that Saudi Arabia attaches special importance to Sudan and supports its unity and stability. He underlined the significance of Prime Minister Idris’s visit and his meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressing hope that the outcomes would lead to major joint projects and economic and service-oriented initiatives beneficial to both countries.
