Sudanese-Iranian Ministerial Committee Meeting Postponed

Tehran – Sudanhorizon- Mariam Bashar
The Sudanese -Iranian joint ministerial committee’s meeting, set for next week, is almost certainly being postponed to a later date.
Sudan’s ambassador to Tehran, Abdul Aziz Hassan Saleh, told Sudanhorizon that question of holding the meeting has not yet been discussed with the Iranian side after the situation has calmed down and the security tensions in Iran have ended.
He added that the political situation in Sudan has also not yet stabilized, following the appointment of Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris and his commencement of forming his cabinet, which has not yet been fully formed.
Saleh added that, due to the limited time, it is most likely that there would be a postponement of the meeting to a later date, more convenient for both sides.
In the same context, Saleh confirmed that activities in Tehran have returned to normal. He said that all members of the Sudanese community still in Iran are well and no one has been injured. He pointed out that the mission’s work has been officially resumed since last week, and that the last batch of (6) members of the community will be leave by land via Turkey.
