An informed official source has denied the accuracy of reports circulated by some media outlets regarding the arrival of a delegation of envoys from Chadian President Mahamat Déby (Kaka) to Port Sudan, the administrative capital, to negotiate with the Sudanese government about repairing relations between the two countries.

The source told Sudanhorizon news website: “There has been no official or public statement regarding the arrival of a Chadian delegation to Sudan.” The source indicated that the reports in question were published by an online Chadian newspaper based abroad, which is aligned with the Chadian opposition and has loyalties to the RSF militia. According to the source, this outlet often publishes incorrect and misleading news about Sudanese-Chadian relations.

Earlier, some foreign media outlets had reported that envoys from the Chadian president arrived in Port Sudan last week to arrange a presidential summit between General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and President Mahamat Déby.
