Sudan Faces Ethiopia in CHAN Qualifiers This Afternoon

The Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, will host the first leg of the final qualifying round for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) today (Sunday) at 4:00 PM Sudan time.

The match pits Sudan’s national team for local players against Ethiopia as they vie for a spot in the CHAN finals scheduled to be held in February 2025 across three countries: Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The second leg is set to take place next Wednesday at the same venue.

The Sudanese team advanced to face Ethiopia after eliminating Tanzania in the first round via penalty shootouts.

The “Saqoor Al-Jedyan” (Sudan’s Falcons) will take to the field in their full white kit, while the Ethiopian team will play in green and yellow. The match will be officiated by Ugandan referee Lucky Kazake.
