Addis Ababa – Sudanhorizon

Ambassador Al-Zain Ibrahim Hussein, Sudan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia presented his credentials to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki, as Sudan’s delegate to the regional organization on Friday.

Ambassador Al-Zain discussed with Faki the role of the African Union in Sudan and what it can do within the framework of the principle of African solutions to African problems.

The meeting addressed the recent comments of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ugandan People’s Forces regarding Sudan, and the delegate called for condemning them for their extreme seriousness, given that President Museveni is the Chairman of the High-Level Committee of African Presidents, which the African Peace and Security Council tasked to follow up on the issue of Sudan.

Hussein also referred to the extensive and continuous external support for the Janjaweed militia with equipment, weapons and mercenaries, and the African Union’s silence in condemning this. He called on the African Union to take a clear position regarding the participation of foreign mercenaries who come from a large number of countries, including Colombia in Latin America and others, in fighting alongside the Rapid Support Militia against the Sudanese people, warning of the danger of this phenomenon to the security of the region, and peace and stability in Africa as a whole.
