Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon – Talal Ismail
Finance Minister Jibril Ibrahim denied that he had submitted his resignation from his ministerial position, affirming that the Justice and Equality Movement, which he leads, continues to fight alongside the Sudanese army against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
In a press conference on Sunday in Port Sudan, the administrative capital of Red Sea State in eastern Sudan, Jibril stated, “I have not submitted my resignation, and we have observations on the performance of the executive body, but we address them through institutional channels.”
Jibril emphasized that armed movements do not extort the state, which understands the needs of its fighters, adding, “We are fighting this battle because this is our homeland, and we are not fighting to please any individual; we are fighting because Sudan belongs to all of us.”
He added, “We will continue fighting until we defeat the rebellion, and victory is near, God willing.”
Jibril Ibrahim also mentioned that his ministry would hold a conference on managing the economy during wartime later this month.
