Electricity: Service Outage in States Targeted by RSF Drone Attacks

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Sudan Electricity Holding Company has disclosed details regarding the treacherous, terrorist-style attacks carried out this morning (Monday) by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) using drones. The attacks directly targeted several vital electrical substations across the country, including those in Singa, Al-Hawata, Al-Faw, Mashkour, and Al-Guneid in Al-Gezirah State.
A statement issued by the company explained that these strikes caused severe damage and extensive destruction to the components of these stations. This has resulted in a total blackout across the southeastern power grid, cutting off electricity service to the states of Sinnar, Al-Qadarif, White Nile, and Al-Gezirah—a situation that poses a direct threat to the stability of the national electrical grid.
The company confirmed that all its engineering and technical teams have been mobilized to reach the affected sites, assess the damage, and take the necessary remedial actions, while engineers continue to carry out essential technical repairs.
The company pledged to work toward repairing the destruction caused by this act of treachery, aiming to restore power and stabilize the national grid as quickly as possible.
