Bayuda – Sudanhorizon
, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Wednesday, paid a visit to Bayuda area in the Northern State as part of his ongoing tour of the state. During the visit, he assessed the overall situation in the region and the status of essential services provided to the local population.

Burhan also visited the residence of the Idrisi family (the *Masid*—or religious center—of Sayyid al-Kamil al-Idrisi in Bayuda), where he praised the role of Sufi orders in society, describing them as beacons of truth, guidance, national unity, and social cohesion.

He noted that these orders advocate for moderation and balance, while rejecting extremism and radicalism, and commending their contribution in strengthening the foundations of national unity.

The Chairman of the Sovereign Council stated that his visit was intended to get a firsthand information about the challenges facing agriculture in the Northern State, specifically regarding three key projects: Al-Burgaig, Karma, and Al-Dafufa.

He added that the government places high priority on agriculture, viewing it as a vital safeguard for Sudan. “We are working to resolve all challenges facing the agricultural sector in time for the winter planting season,” he said, referring to the significant rainfall shortages across Sudan.

“Consequently, there will be a major focus on agricultural projects in the White Nile and Gezira states, as well as those in the River Nile and Northern states—along with the Sundus, Al-Salit, and Soba projects—to ensure food security and improve the livelihoods of the people.”
