Sudan National Team Agrees to Meet Ghana, as CAF Decides

The Vice Chairman of the Sudanese Football Association, Osama Atta Al-Manan, has welcomed holding the first leg match between Sudan and Ghana in Morocco, within the third round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, in any stadium to be named by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Atta Al-Mannan said in press statements that Sudan has not yet received an official letter from CAF on playing the match at the Accra Stadium and that it learned this only via a media outlet. He underlined that his association would communicate with CAF about the issue.
He said the Association was well aware of the match’s importance for both national teams. The Sudan team focused on preparing itself to ” make an honourable appearance and achieve a positive result.”

Atta Al-Mannan confirmed that the national team’s committee is following up with the technical director, Coach Kwasi Appiah, to prepare the team for the two matches against Ghana in coordination with the Sudanese top team and its technical staff.

He underlined the importance of the two matches in the qualifying journey and in securing qualification within the group. He promised that the Association would meet all the coaches’ requests for the match and exert maximum efforts to make it a success.

Media reports on Wednesday indicated that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) officially approved the Accra Stadium to host the Ghana and Sudan match on Friday, October 11, for the third round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The national team enters the match with 3 points after defeating Niger and losing to Angola, while Ghana enters with one point having a draw with Niger.
