Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

The General Administration for Admission, Evaluation, and Certificates Authentication at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the opening of the application process for admission to public and private higher education and scientific research institutions in Sudan for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applications will be accepted from tomorrow, Thursday (September 17, 2026), through Saturday, September 26, in accordance with the announced regulations and procedures.
The General Administration for Admission clarified that applications at this stage are limited to Sudanese students who obtained the Sudanese Secondary School Certificate—or an equivalent Arab or foreign certificate—in 2026. Applications must be submitted electronically via the Administration’s website (admission.gov.sd). Students are urged to review the admission criteria, the guide to available opportunities, and the approved electronic payment methods on the site.

The Administration set the application fee at 20,000 Sudanese pounds for applicants within Sudan, while the fee for Sudanese applicants abroad is 200 US dollars, according to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA).
Regarding holders of Arab and foreign certificates who have not yet completed the certificate verification (matching) process, the Administration called on the concerned students to contact the department urgently to finalize verification procedures and obtain the reference number required to apply to higher education institutions. It explained that completing the verification process requires uploading a copy of the secondary school certificate—certified by the Ministry of Education—via the tracking portal on the Administration’s website. Additionally, the original certificate, a copy thereof, and proof of identity must be presented at the General Administration for Admissions headquarters in Khartoum; the original certificate will be returned to the holder immediately.
The General Administration for Admissions, Evaluation, and Certificate Authentication emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified schedules, guidelines, and procedures, wishing all students success in their educational journey.
