1,225 Sudanese Repatriated from Egypt

Cairo – Sudanhorizon

The Al-Amal Committee for Voluntary Return organized the departure today, Saturday, of 25 buses carrying 1,225 Sudanese returning to Sudan.

Maher Al-Zein Ahmed, head of the Transport Committee within the Voluntary Return Committee, said in press statements at the bus departure area in Abdeen, Cairo, that requests to return to Sudan through the committee have been increasing.

He attributed the rise to the return of university students and professors preparing to resume the new academic year, as well as the organized return of intermediate certificate students in Khartoum State, whose examinations are scheduled to take place at the end of next September.

He also cited exceptional circumstances, particularly the decline in the value of the Sudanese pound against foreign currencies, as another factor contributing to the increased demand for voluntary return.
