ICRC-Sudan Agreement on Supporting Physical Rehabilitation and Prosthetics the Country

The Sudanese Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutasim Ahmed Saleh, signed an agreement on Saturday with on provision of technical and financial support for physical rehabilitation services and prosthetic and orthotic device centers in Sudan.
The agreement seeks to improve the efficiency of rehabilitation centers and enable them to provide services to people with disabilities and war-wounded individuals across the country.
According to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the agreement includes providing materials, equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs, and physiotherapy services. It also covers equipment maintenance, operational support, staff incentives, and assistance with transportation, accommodation, and living expenses for beneficiaries, in addition to implementing training and capacity-building programs for center staff.
The Minister emphasized that the agreement represents a step towards strengthening rehabilitation services and reintegrating those affected by the war, expanding their access to care and contributing to their empowerment and independence. He expressed his appreciation to the ICRC and his hope for tangible results in developing rehabilitation services in the country.
