Minawi: Dagalo Militia Failed to Outflank Forces in Bir Saliba
Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
Darfur Region Governor Minni Minnawi said that the terrorist Dagalo militia had deployed two forces, one from northern Kulbus and the other from the direction of Silea, in what he described as a desperate attempt to outflank and surprise the forces stationed in the Bir Saliba area.
In a post on Facebook on Saturday, Minnawi said the militia had forgotten that those confronting it were “the sons of the land, the masters of the battlefield, and experienced in breaking encirclements and turning the aggressor’s schemes against him.”
He added: “The result was another lesson for the militia and those standing behind it: land defended by its own people cannot be taken by mercenaries, seized through deception, or intimidated by masses of forces.”
Minnawi congratulated the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Joint Forces, and the Popular Resistance on what he described as this victory. Addressing fighters on the ground, he said: “You are the rightful owners, the sons of this land, and its true protectors. Defend the land of your ancestors with courage and steadfastness, and do not surrender a single inch of it to the invaders and their foreign mercenaries.”
Minnawi concluded his post by stressing that “the ongoing battle is not only about the land; it is a battle for the freedom and dignity of the Sudanese people.”
