The Sudan-Arab Smart Transport Forum is scheduled to open in Khartoum on Monday under the theme “Towards a Smart and Sustainable Partnership for Rebuilding the Transport Sector.” The event will bring together government officials, experts, and specialists from Sudan and several Arab countries to discuss the latest trends and experiences in smart transport and its role in supporting development and the reconstruction of the transport sector.

According to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the forum is being organised by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in cooperation with the Arab Marketing Agency, an affiliate of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, as part of efforts to strengthen Arab cooperation, exchange expertise and best practices, and promote the use of modern technologies and digital innovations to develop transport systems and improve their efficiency and service quality.

The forum will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris and will be attended by a number of ministers, senior government officials, representatives of public institutions, private sector organisations, regional bodies, and leading experts in smart transport from across the Arab world.

Participants will discuss several strategic topics, including digital transformation in the transport sector, applications of intelligent transport systems, infrastructure development, strengthening investment partnerships, and exploring opportunities to support the reconstruction of Sudan’s transport sector in line with the latest international practices and technologies.

The forum comes as part of the government’s broader efforts to modernise and develop the country’s infrastructure and transport sector, which is regarded as a key pillar for achieving economic development, strengthening regional integration, and building a modern, intelligent, and sustainable transport system capable of supporting Sudan’s reconstruction and long-term growth.
