Committee to Register Detainees Held by Militia, Appeals for Registering Missing Persons

The committee tasked with registering prisoners held by the Rapid Support Forces militia, formed by Sovereign Council Decree No. (270), held its first meeting on Saturday.
Sudanhorizon has learned that the meeting discussed the required measures to prepare for the prisoner exchange, including registering and classifying detainees and preparing the required records.
The meeting also addressed the importance of communicating with relevant authorities to ensure thorough preparation for the exchange, as well as developing a comprehensive plan to provide medical and psychological support to detainees before, during, and after the exchange.
The committee appealed to all people whose relatives are detained or missing, and who have not yet reported their disappearance to come forward and report the cases to the nearest police station or public prosecutor’s office within one week from today.
The committee affirms its serious commitment and full cooperation with all relevant authorities to ensure the success of the prisoner exchange. The formation and convening of the committee meeting came as a confirmation of the Sudanese government’s commitment to protecting civilians all over the country, and in response to the United Nations initiative on the matter.
