Sudanese FM: Those Siding with the RSF Militias Cannot Be Mediators

Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohi El-Din Salem Ahmed, stated that his government “deals with regional and international initiatives realistically, safeguarding Sudan’s interests and the rights of its people,” emphasizing that “those who sided with militias cannot be mediators.”
In an interview broadcast by the national television, the national radio, and by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Friday evening, the minister affirmed that Sudan’s foreign policy is based on its Arab, African, and Islamic affiliations, alongside openness to the world in a way that promotes peace, security, and stability, reinforces the principle of good neighborliness, and protects and defends the interests of the Sudanese people.
He added that one of the established principles of Sudanese diplomacy is non-interference in the affairs of others, stressing that Sudan is confidently moving towards achieving its goals and that its foreign policy is based on openness to all, provided there is no interference in its internal affairs.
The Foreign Minister stressed in a general statement that “Those who do not hasten to seize their opportunity with us will find that the Sudanese renaissance will move on.” He added, “We have partnerships with regional and international organizations and with sister nations with whom we have reconstruction plans. We are conducting visits to revitalize agreements related to reconstruction and development.” He noted that Sudan has received a significant response in this regard.
The Minister explained that foreign policy is a reflection of domestic policy and that it is confidently moving towards implementing reconstruction plans in partnership with friendly nations and partners. He clarified that security is the cornerstone of this policy, within the framework of a government system that operates on two parallel tracks: first, supporting the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and auxiliary forces to achieve victory, and second, providing services to citizens and supporting recovery efforts to ensure the conditions for voluntary return. He pointed out that the executive branch is making significant efforts to achieve these objectives.
