Great News For Sudanese-Chinese Trade: No Dollar Anymore!

Beijing – Sudanhorizon

Sudan’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Omar Issa Ahmed, congratulated members of the Sudanese community across China—particularly those in Guangdong Province in the country’s south—on the launch of a new direct bank transfer service between Omdurman National Bank and both the Bank of Shanghai and the People’s Bank of China.

Speaking to Sudan Radio correspondent Osama Mokhtar in Beijing on Monday, Ambassador Omar Issa said the initiative marks the culmination of diplomatic efforts undertaken in recent months to simplify financial and banking procedures for Sudanese nationals residing in China.

He added that the Chinese authorities have also approved the opening of a bank account for the Agricultural Bank of Sudan, following the recent visit to China by the bank’s Director General, Salah Mohamed Abdel Rahim.

According to the ambassador, the new service will provide a secure, fast, and low-cost mechanism for transferring funds, helping meet the needs of students, businesspeople, and traders while strengthening trade and investment between Sudan and China.

Ambassador Omar Issa also said the Sudanese Embassy will continue coordinating with Omdurman National Bank to announce, as soon as possible, the list of approved branches, along with the regulations and procedures governing the new transfer service.
