Here is what the War Crimes Committee Chief Disclosed

Sudan’s Attorney General, Intisar Ahmed Abdel Aal, in her capacity as Chairperson of the National Committee for the Investigation of Crimes and Violations of National Law and International Humanitarian Law during the war, met on Tuesday in Geneva with Jürg Lauber and senior members of his team to review the committee’s activities.
During the meeting, Abdel Aal presented the key findings of the committee’s fifth interim report, outlining the progress of its work, including investigations conducted and judicial measures undertaken in relation to crimes and violations committed during the conflict.
The committee chair emphasized that Sudan’s national judicial system is qualified, willing, and capable of delivering justice, providing redress for victims, and preventing impunity in accordance with principles of full independence and integrity.
She also called for the application of the principle of complementarity through support for ongoing national efforts to investigate alleged crimes committed during the war.
For his part, the President of the United Nations Human Rights Council said he has been following the work of the national committee through its reports and statements presented before the council.
He referred to the existing cooperation between the Government of Sudan and the country office of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as the government’s engagement with the appointed independent expert.
The discussion also addressed atrocities, reported violations, and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Sudan. The Human Rights Council President expressed hope that Sudan would regain its security and stability in the near future.
