During his recent inspection tour of Omdurman Market,Wednesday, Prime Minister Kamil Idris instructed relevant authorities in the Hope Government to complete the electricity and water connections. He emphasized that the decisions he issued during his visit to Al-Sajana Market regarding the cancellation of fees imposed on traders during the past years (2023-2024-2025) apply to all markets in Sudan, including Omdurman Market.
He stressed the need to conduct government service fee payments electronically through the “Baladna” platform, which will be launched in the coming days. He reiterated the Hope Government’s commitment to combating the phenomenon of illegal collection, adding, “Illegal levies have impoverished the citizen and have not enriched the government.”
The Prime Minister also directed a reduction in seasonal permit fees for traders in the Omdurman market from 800,000 to 400,000 Sudanese pounds, in line with the state’s policies aimed at encouraging traders to conduct their business and easing the burden on citizens.
Idris sent reassuring messages to all Sudanese, both inside and outside the country, that Khartoum is safe and stable and will remain so, defying the schemes of aggressors and those lying in wait.
