King Salman Center: Over 3,900 Food Baskets Distributed in River Nile State

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has distributed 3,930 food baskets in River Nile State over the past few days through its national partner, the Adda for Disaster and Development Aid Organization, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen social protection programs in Sudan.

The Sudan News Agency quoted Dr. Siraj Al-Din Abdul Ghaffar Omar, an advisor to Adda, as saying that the distribution operations are continuing. He stated that 2,250 baskets have been allocated as part of the Food Security Support Project in Sudan, targeting the localities of Berber, Abu Hamad, and Al-Buhaira.

He added that another 1,680 baskets are being distributed under the Sudan Support Project 2025-2026 in the Al-Adbarawi, Al-Hurra, and Saydoun units of Al-Damir locality.

Abdul Ghaffar pointed out that the King Salman Center’s continued support represents genuine assistance to the Sudanese people, especially given the circumstances imposed by the war. He emphasized the Center’s contribution to alleviating the suffering of vulnerable families and bridging part of the food security gap.

The advisor to the organization expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, for their continued support of Sudan. He also commended the efforts of the River Nile State government, represented by the Higher Council for Social Affairs and the Humanitarian Aid Commission, for their role in facilitating the organization’s work.

He noted that the organization distributes this food supplies, provided by the King Salman Center, on a regular basis to the states of River Nile, Gedaref, Northern, and Sinnar, in addition to other partners who cover the remaining states of Sudan.
