US and Egyptian Foreign Ministers Review Situations in Sudan and Iran

A press release from the US State Department stated that a meeting between the US and Egyptian foreign ministers has underlined the importance of achieving a humanitarian truce in Sudan.
The State Department statement added that Secretary of State Marco Rubio met on Tuesday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty, where the Secretary stressed the importance of ongoing US and Egyptian efforts to achieve a humanitarian truce in Sudan
The statement indicated that the two ministers also discussed a ceasefire with Iran and the importance of establishing a lasting peace in the Middle East. They also discussed joint efforts to disarm Hamas, in line with President Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, and ways to strengthen economic and trade relations between the United States and Egypt.
Both the United States and Egypt are participating in the Berlin Conference being held in the German capital Wednesday as members of the Quartet, which also includes Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey are involved in supporting Pakistani mediation to defuse the war that the United States and Israel launched against Iran five weeks ago.
