38 Civilians Killed and Wounded in Militia Bombing of Dilling, Doctors Network says

Dilling – Sudanhorizon
The Sudan Doctors Network on Wednesday announced that at least five people were killed and others wounded in artillery shelling by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia alliance targeting Dilling, South Kordofan State.
In a statement, the network said the shelling struck the neighborhoods of Frish, Al-Marafid, and Al-Hilla Al-Jadeeda, resulting in civilian casualties and varying degrees of damage to homes and property. The city’s health facilities received the wounded, some in critical condition, while medical personnel are working under extremely harsh conditions.
The statement said the network strongly condemned this “systematic targeting” of residential areas, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and puts the lives of innocent civilians at grave risk, especially given the use of heavy artillery against densely populated areas.
The statement emphasized that the continuation of this approach exacerbates the suffering of citizens and further deteriorates the humanitarian and health situation in the city, holding the RSF and the SPLM-N fully responsible for this attack.
The network further called on the international community, UN and human rights organizations to take urgent action to pressure for an end to the targeting of civilians and residential areas, and to provide the necessary protection for civilians who have begun to voluntarily return after the city’s siege was lifted.
