Burhan: Doors Are Open for Those Who Lay Down Their Arms
Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has reaffirmed that the Armed Forces and the Sudanese people are continuing the battle for dignity until the terrorist rebel militia is defeated and the country is cleansed of them. He stressed that there are no other solutions other than leading the battle to its end, or the enemy’s surrender and elimination.
This came during the graduation ceremony of new classes of officers from the colleges of Karari University, including the Colleges of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and the Naval College.
In his speech, Burhan reiterated the policy of forgiveness and pardon for fighters who were misled, emphasizing that “the doors of repentance are open,” based on Sudanese values essential for national unity. He clarified that the Armed Forces have no animosity towards any party that took up arms as a result of incitement or misinformation, calling on them to lay down their weapons and return. He welcomed all who chose to stand with the nation, noting at the same time that armed groups have already joined the Armed Forces and turned their weapons against the enemy.
In a message addressed to politicians, Burhan clarified that the doors are open to all who express a genuine desire to return to the path of righteousness, warning that continued hostility and the fabrication of accusations against the army and the people will be met with accountability.
The Commander-in-Chief also revealed the features of the next phase, which focuses on building a “smart army” that relies on science, technology, drones, and defense systems, and on attracting young engineering and technical youth to enhance military capabilities.
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council praised the steadfastness of the Sudanese people and their support for their armed forces in this existential battle to deter the terrorist militia of the Dagalo family, affirming that the military institution will remain true to its pledge to protect national sovereignty, free from any partisan or tribal affiliation, under the motto “God – the homeland.”
