Khartoum Governor Hands Prime Minister the Strategic Plan and Discusses State Reconstruction and Employees’ Conditions

The Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman Hamza, said that he handed Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris, on Thursday, a copy of the strategic plan for recovery and reconstruction of Khartoum State for the next ten years, with a focus on the 2026 baseline year. He also discussed with him the conditions of employees in Khartoum State, especially following the state government’s decision requiring employees to resume work, in addition to the needs, challenges, and entitlements of workers.

The Prime Minister affirmed the commitment of the Government of Hope to mobilize all its efforts and capabilities to accelerate recovery in Khartoum State, praising the significant role played by the state government in steering executive work and fulfilling its national duty under exceptional wartime conditions. He also commended the major role and continuous efforts of the Khartoum State Government in reconstruction and rebuilding.

For his part, the Governor of Khartoum explained, in a statement following the meeting, that he briefed the Prime Minister on the overall situation in Khartoum State and the progress of performance during the past period. He added that “the meeting addressed the outcomes of the Khartoum State Development and Advancement Conference held recently, which summarized and identified the state’s needs and mechanisms for their implementation.”

The Governor noted that the meeting also discussed the repercussions and consequences of the war on Khartoum State, and statistics related to the scale of damage, particularly to infrastructure. He pointed to the efforts of the Khartoum State Government in reconstruction and rebuilding, in coordination and cooperation with the Higher Committee for Preparing the Appropriate Environment for the Return of Citizens to the state, which has made significant progress.
