Prince Faisal bin Farhan Calls Iranian, Qatari, and Omani Counterparts to Discuss Regional Development
Sudanhorizon – Agencies
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan made telephone calls today (Thursday) with several of his counterparts in the region to discuss the latest developments and ways to enhance regional security.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Prince Faisal bin Farhan spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, where they discussed developments in the region and mechanisms for supporting shared stability.
He also spoke with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which they discussed issues of common interest and efforts to strengthen regional cooperation.
In addition, the Saudi minister spoke with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and they reviewed the latest developments on the regional scene and joint efforts aimed at achieving security and peace in the region.
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman are leading intensive diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions between the United States and Iran, following President Trump’s threat to strike Iran over what he called the “repression of peaceful protesters.”
The three countries believe that any military confrontation between Iran and the United States would create chaos in the region that would be difficult to control.
