The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Cairo on Tuesday with the Arab Organization for Administrative Development (ARADO), an affiliate of the League of Arab States, to enhance scientific and technical cooperation and build an effective partnership in areas of mutual interest.

The MoU aims to foster cooperation and communication in scientific and technological fields, and to exchange expertise, thereby contributing to the development of institutional performance, supporting training and capacity-building efforts, and raising the efficiency of human resources.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Nasser Al-Hatlan Al-Qahtani, Director General of ARADO, and Dr. Haitham Hassan Abdel Salam, representing the Director General of the SSMO.

Dr. Nasser Al-Hatlan Al-Qahtani explained that ARADO is ready to support the Republic of Sudan and the SSMO in the areas of training and administrative development.

He emphasized his personal interest and the organization’s support for the SSMO’s efforts during the reconstruction phase, providing technical support and administrative capacity building, opening avenues for cooperation with external donors, and facilitating the necessary procedures for implementing the provisions of the MoU.

For his part, Dr. Haitham Hassan Abdel Salam affirmed the Authority and its senior management’s commitment to implementing the memorandum’s provisions in a way that benefits employees and contributes to improving institutional performance.

He noted the agreement to adopt an implementation plan for joint projects and activities between the two parties, translating the cooperation provisions into practical programs in the areas of training, capacity building, and administrative and technical development. This will ensure the achievement of the partnership’s objectives and maximize the utilization of available resources.

The signing ceremony was attended by a representative of the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo and a representative of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, along with representatives from the International Relations Unit, the Executive Office, and the Authority’s Human Resources Development Department.
