Dozens killed and injured in Traffic Accident in Central Sudan

Thirteen people were killed and 52 others injured in a traffic accident, on Thursday, on the Kosti-Khartoum highway near the Qoz al-Nil coffee shops.

The accident involved a commuter bus traveling from Kosti to Khartoum and another passenger bus heading in the opposite direction carrying passengers from a neighboring country.

A press release issued by the Sudan Police Media Office stated that immediately after the accident, the Abu Habira Traffic Police responded and transported the injured to Al-Duwaym Hospital.

The necessary procedures were initiated regarding the deceased under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and reports were filed under Articles (66/62/57 A, B, C).

The Governor of White Nile State, the State Minister of Health, the Director of White Nile State Police, the Director of White Nile Traffic Police, and the Director of the White Nile Police Traffic Department inspected the accident site. They checked on the situation of those injured at Al-Duwaym Hospital, reviewed the procedures for providing them with necessary medical and treatment services, and oversaw the completion of the procedures for the deceased and the handover of the bodies to the authorities of that neighbouring country, according to the press release.
