Zain Group Launches The Masters Initiative to Empower People with Disabilities in Leadership and Decision-Making
Zain Group has launched a new initiative as part of its ongoing efforts to empower people with disabilities as an important and influential segment of society and in all areas of giving.
The first-of-its-kind initiative, called “The Masters,” aims to enhance the role of people with disabilities in decision-making within Zain Group by refining and developing their experiences to assume leadership roles in decision-making positions within the business environments of the leading mobile communications group in the Middle East and Africa.
The initiative, which comes within the framework of the general strategy for people with disabilities, focuses on four main areas of impact: integrating people with disabilities through implementing a joint strategy that was developed to guide efforts to make Zain a more inclusive workplace, facilitating accessibility in the decision-making process, as it will provide efforts to integrate accessibility into all aspects of decision-making processes, ensuring that products, services and experiences are designed with everyone in mind.
Among the areas is the implementation of the “Learning and Leadership” program, which will help foster a supportive environment where people with disabilities can communicate, share experiences and grow in the work environment, while the last main area will work on visibility and voice, by enhancing the voices of people with disabilities, and ensuring that their needs and contributions are recognized and appreciated.
The initiative confirms Zain Group’s commitment to championing initiatives that empower people with disabilities in the workplace, and the initiative is led by people with disabilities from the group’s employees to confirm the main goal of individuals with disabilities becoming decision-makers, leaders and catalysts for change.
“As an influential regional organization, the launch of The Masters initiative is an opportunity to invite people with disabilities to take on leadership roles and practice business,” said Eng. Hisham Mustafa Allam, CEO of Zain Sudan.
Allam added, “Our mission at Zain goes beyond the objectives of providing telecommunications services, as we focus on addressing shortcomings and challenges across our operations, and working to provide meaningful communication that leads to fair systemic change in all our markets. In this direction, we always renew our determination not to leave anyone behind, as our goal is to help build societies in which everyone participates.”
Zain Group had concluded a training program attended by about 1,000 people and implemented by experts from all the group’s companies within the learning and leadership axis with the aim of enlightening, supporting, helping and empowering people with disabilities to make informed choices, access services and participate effectively in the decision-making process in all issues that affect their lives and giving the opportunity to blind, deaf or physically disabled employees to train others on the required skills as part of efforts to enhance Zain Group’s commitment to include everyone and set a new standard in this field and turn dreams into reality.
It is worth noting that Zain Group launched the “WE ABLE” initiative for people with disabilities to confirm its commitment to developing and implementing a sustainable program that includes everyone, as Zain believes in the rights of people with disabilities to be able to make their contributions within the workforce and in society in general.
The disability inclusion program implemented by Zain adopts the commitments of the “Global Compact for Business and Disability Network” of the International Labor Organization, which encourages opening new channels to empower people with special needs economically and financially so that they can enjoy decent work and achieve financial independence.
