Workshop on Child Protection in Sports on Tuesday

The technical management of the Sudanese Youth Team, an affiliate of the Sudanese Football Association, in cooperation with the Committee on Sudanese Professional Players Abroad, has announced the organization of an online training course on child protection in sports that will kick off on Tuesday.
The Sudanese Association said that the course is held in accordance with the directives of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football Federation (CAF) regarding child safety in sports and in accordance with the two associations’ demand that all member associations appoint and identify a child protection officer to ensure a safe and healthy sports environment for children.
According to a press release issued by the Sudanese Football Association on Sunday, the course targets those working with teams and national teams under 17, including administrative and technical staff and child protection officers.
It aims to introduce the basics of child protection in sports, review the laws and policies related to child safety, how to deal with cases of abuse and mechanisms for reporting them, and the role of the child protection officer in enhancing the safety of the sports environment.
The General Federation has stressed that attending the course is mandatory for all administrative and technical staff working with national teams and teams under 17 years of age, as well as child protection officials.
