West Darfur Governor: Rebel Hemedti Promotes a Morally Unviable Project

Sudanhorizon – Mariam Abashar

West Darfur Governor, General Bahr al-Din Adam Karama, has described the imergence of rebel leader Hemedti in Uganda as a desperate attempt to revive a fictitious project born on shaky ground, and an attempt to seek recognition after losing all national support.

In an exclusive statement, the General affirmed that legitimacy cannot be seized by force of arms, nor can a state be built with parallel entities. He added that what Hemedti is promoting today is not the establishment of a nation, but rather an attempt to beautify a morally and politically failed project.

Karama stated that anyone attempting to polish the image of this project is opposing the will of the Sudanese people and belittling their sacrifices. He emphasized that Sudan is greater than the ambitions of individuals, and that there is no recognition except for one state, one army, and indivisible sovereignty.
