The Army Repels Drone Attack against Babanusa

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Sunday that they have repelled an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on the headquarters of the 22nd Infantry Division in Babanusa, West Kordofan State.

The 22nd Infantry Division’s Moral Guidance and Services Branch stated in a press release that “the attack began in the early morning hours using drones and intensive shelling, but the armed forces dealt with it with utmost professionalism and efficiency.”

The statement explained that the forces were able to repel the attackers and dealt heavy blows on the RSF militias. The operation resulted in the neutralization of the attack’s commander, Major General Mohamed Saleh, and inflicted casualties on the RSF, including both dead and wounded. The statement affirmed that the armed forces remain steadfast in their positions and are in complete control of the situation.

The division’s command confirmed that the security situation in Babanusa is stable, reassuring citizens that the 22nd Infantry Division remains Sudan’s impregnable shield and the protector of its western borders, according to the statement.
