The Sudanese Olympic Committee strongly condemned the “bloody crimes” committed by the Rapid Support Militia, the latest of which was the bombing of “Sabreen Market” in Omdurman, which led to deaths and major injuries among innocent citizens.
A statement issued by the committee on Monday said, “the consecutive attacks carried out by the militia, which is devoid of humanity, against the citizenry is a barbaric and extremist behavior that has been adopted by them since the first moment in this existential war that targets the foundations of the state and its people.”
The statement added: The Olympic Committee calls for an immediate end to these violations, stressing that targeting defenseless citizens and the actions committed are nothing but full-fledged war crimes, and in them is a clear violation of all international laws, regulations and norms that call for the protection of civilians during wars.”
The statement expressed deep and sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed to God to grant a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.
