The Arab League Welcomes Appointment of Kamel Idris as PM in Sudan

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States has welcomed the appointment of Dr. Kamel Idris as head of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Sudan, and considered that the move an important step towards restoring the work of national civil institutions.
An official source at the General Secretariat of the Arab League said in press statements on Tuesday that the Arab League will intensify its efforts to support the efforts of Sudan’s sovereignty and unity of its national soil and increase the international response with its developmental and humanitarian needs, restore the course of civil transformation and launch a comprehensive political process owned by Sudanese that guarantee the participation of all Sudanese civil society.
It is noteworthy that the Arab League, the United Nations and the African Union held a meeting on the sidelines of the Arab Summit in Baghdad on May 16, at the level of the heads of organizations. It was the first of its kind since the beginning of the Sudanese crisis, to move collectively in harmony to help put an end to the crisis and address its various repercussions.
