Sudan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Names A Committee for Rehabilitation and Operation of Sports City

Federal Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Adam, issued Ministerial Decree No. (43), 2026, establishing a special committee to oversee the rehabilitation and operation of the Sports City. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to rehabilitate sports facilities and develop their operational infrastructure.
The decree stipulates that the committee be chaired by the Federal Minister of Youth and Sports and include representatives from relevant official and sports bodies, including the Sudanese Olympic Committee, the Sudanese Football Association, and the Athletics Federation.
The committee also includes representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, and Interior, as well as the Customs Authority, the Tax Authority, the Standards and Metrology Authority, the Defense Industries Organization, the National Intelligence and Security Service, and the Sea Ports Corporation, in addition to a representative from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The committee’s formation saw the inclusion of the presidents of Al-Hilal and Al-Merreikh football clubs, while Dr. Osama Osman Salman was appointed as a member and rapporteur.
According to the decision, the committee is entrusted with developing an integrated strategic plan for the rehabilitation and operation of the sports city, in addition to effectively leading efforts to attract the necessary support to complete the facilities and infrastructure related to the project.
