Sudan’s Embassy in Australia Commends New Zealand’s Humanitarian Suppor

The Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Australia and New Zealand expressed its deep appreciation and gratitude to the New Zealand government for its humanitarian initiative in allocating new aid to Sudan, describing this step as “reflecting the spirit of solidarity with the Sudanese people in these difficult times.”
In a press release issued Wednesday , the embassy also commended the role of international partners and humanitarian organizations in providing support and assistance to Sudanese civilians affected by the war.
The press release stated that the New Zealand government announced a new humanitarian contribution of NZ$5 million to support the Sudanese people affected by the conflict, in addition to the previous support provided by New Zealand amounting to NZ$6 million, bringing the total aid to approximately NZ$11 million.
The embassy stated that the new contribution includes allocating NZ$3.5 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross to support its humanitarian response within Sudan, and NZ$1.5 million to support the UNHCR’s regional response to assist Sudanese refugees.
