Sudan’s Civil Aviation Authority Announces Opening of Two Air Routes

The Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority on Saturday announced the opening of two new air routes for aircraft traffic, as part of the progress towards restoring full operation of the airspace.
In a statement, the authority said it had issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) announcing the opening of two new air routes in Sudanese airspace.
It indicated that the opening of the two routes came after fulfilling all the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) committee according to international technical standards, a step that confirms the continued progress towards restoring full operation of Sudanese airspace.
The statement added that the opening of the two new routes is part of the Civil Aviation Authority’s efforts to secure and resume air traffic according to the highest safety and security standards, support international air traffic, and strengthen the role of the civil aviation sector in the current phase.
It considered this an achievement that represents a real addition to the process of restoring air activity in the country, supporting airlines’ readiness to resume flights through Sudanese airspace.
It stated that opening the new routes is an important step towards restoring full operation of the airspace.
