Sudanese–Saudi Talks on a Strategic Partnership to Develop the Mining Sector

Sudan’s Minister of Minerals, Nour Al-Daem Taha, met on Thursday with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, on the sidelines of the International Mining Conference in Riyadh to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the mining sector.
According to the Sudan News Agency, both sides affirmed during the meeting the depth of the fraternal relations between Sudan and the Kingdom, and their shared desire to elevate these relations towards a sustainable strategic partnership.
Taha praised Saudi Arabia’s vision for developing the mining sector and maximising the utilisation of mineral resources, noting Sudan’s interest in Saudi investments and its readiness to provide all necessary facilitation for investors.
The meeting addressed areas of cooperation, including geological research and exploration, capacity-building and training, the development of technical laboratories, and the exchange of expertise between relevant institutions in both countries, in a manner that supports sustainable economic development.
