Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

Aida Al-Sayed, Secretary-General of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to facilitating all requirements that assist the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in carrying out its mission in the country.
This statement was made during her meeting on Wednesday at the Red Crescent headquarters in Port Sudan with ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger in the presence of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society president and the head of the ICRC delegation in Sudan.
Aida mentioned that the meeting was part of Mirjana’s visit to the country. The visit aimed at strengthening the partnership with the Sudanese Red Crescent and assessing the humanitarian situation resulting from the war, particularly the internal displacement of citizens from conflict-affected states to safer states, which is the largest humanitarian crisis of internal displacement. She stated that the visit also aims to conduct a field assessment to provide necessary humanitarian aid and commended the significant support the ICRC has consistently provided Sudan.
