Sudanese Port Sudan and Turkish Mersin Ports Conclude Twinning Agreement

The Sudanese Red Sea State government has signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday on a twinning agreement between Port Sudan and the Turkish port of Mersin.
The agreement was signed during a visit by the Governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, and the Director General of the Sea Ports Corporation, Gilani Mohamed Gilani, to the Turkish province of Mersin.
According to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in technical fields related to port development and improving operational and logistical efficiency. This will be achieved through the exchange of expertise, the implementation of specialized training programs and courses, and the transfer of modern technologies related to port management and operation.
The memorandum also opens up opportunities for developing commercial and industrial projects and strengthening partnerships between the two sides. This will contribute to supporting trade and improving the trade balance between Sudan and Turkey, in line with the strong and growing bilateral relations between the two countries.
