Sudanese PM Receives South Sudan President’s Security Adviser

Sudanese Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris on Wednesday received Tut Gatluak, Security Adviser to the President of South Sudan, and the accompanying delegation in Khartoum.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister’s Adviser Nizar Abdullah Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary-General Ali Mohamed Ali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Muawia Othman Khalid, and Sudan’s Ambassador to the Republic of South Sudan, Lieutenant General Essam Karrar.

The discussions focused on strengthening and advancing bilateral relations between Sudan and South Sudan, as well as issues of mutual interest. The two sides also explored ways to expand cooperation, particularly in the economic sector, and stressed the importance of political coordination in the interests of the peoples of both countries.

Gatluak arrived in Khartoum on Tuesday for an official visit during which he is expected to discuss a number of political and security issues. He is also scheduled to meet several senior Sudanese officials, including the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council.
