Sudanese Foreign Minister Receives Libyan Chargé d’Affaires

The Acting Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, received Dr. Fawzi Abdul Rahim Bu Mariz the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Libya in Sudan today in his office, on Saturday, where they reviewed the progress of relations between the two countries and their positive progress in several fields, and the joint coordination between them in international and regional forums, according to a press release issued by the office of the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Minister briefed his guest on the latest developments in the political and military situation in Sudan and expressed Sudan’s thanks, to government, and people, to the Libyan people and government for hosting large numbers of Sudanese affected by the war, appreciating the Libyan government’s decision to treat all Sudanese arriving in Libya as Libyan citizens, and its decision to exempt Sudanese students in Libyan schools and universities from tuition fees.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Libyan Embassy confirmed that the coming stage would witness more exchange of visits between officials in the two countries and the signing of a number of bilateral agreements to consolidate and develop relations between the two countries. He also expressed his satisfaction with the success of the recent visit of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Mohamed Hassan Dahab, to Libya, which resulted in many agreements between the two ministries in the field of higher education. At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister confirmed the Chargé d’Affaires’ move in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to activate a number of frameworks and mechanisms for consular coordination between the two countries and increase the volume of trade exchange between them.
