Sudanese Foreign Minister Meets with Director of Political Affairs at the British Foreign Office

Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Youssef met on Saturday with Ambassador Dr. Christian Turner, Director General of Political Affairs at the British Foreign Office, on the sidelines of his participation in the Munich Security Conference. The meeting discussed enhancing dialogue and positive engagement between the two countries.

The Minister explained the country’s developments and the measures taken by the government to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need. He called for Sudan and Britain to deal as friends instead of confrontation in international forums because that has proven to be ineffective. He said that any initiatives or activities related to Sudan must be carried out in consultation with the government and with its approval, otherwise they will have no real impact.

Turner stressed his government’s keenness on dialogue with Sudan, and a high-level delegation will be sent to Sudan in the coming period for this purpose.
