Sudanese-Ethiopian Talks in the Chinese Capital

Sudan’s Sovereignty Council Chairman, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, discussed bilateral and regional issues with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
In a tweet on his account on the platform X, Abiy Ahmed stated: “Following up on our meeting in July, I had another opportunity to meet General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on the sidelines of the forum on China-Africa cooperation.”
He added, “Our discussions focused on a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.”
On July 9th, al-Burhan and Abiy Ahmed met in Port Sudan, eastern Sudan, to discuss the evolving situation and Ethiopia’s efforts to help facilitate a ceasefire in the country. This was the Ethiopian Prime Minister’s first visit to Sudan since the outbreak of the war.
