Sudanese Consulate in Jeddah Commends Bank of Khartoum’s Support for National Initiatives

The Sudanese Consul General in Jeddah and representative of the Sudanese government, Ambassador Kamal Ali Osman, announced that Sudan has purchased a palace in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which will serve as the new official headquarters of the Sudanese Consulate General in Jeddah.
This announcement was made during a speech delivered by the Sudanese Consul General in Jeddah and representative of the Sudanese government on Wednesday at the signing ceremony for the purchase agreement, which was attended by a number of officials, diplomats, and representatives of official and media entities.
Ambassador Kamal Ali Osman praised the pivotal role played by Bank of Khartoum, under the leadership of its CEO, Lamia Kamal Sati, in financing this project and providing all the necessary facilities for this significant national undertaking. He also commended the bank’s numerous national contributions, describing it as an active national partner that has contributed to supporting this strategic project, reflecting its commitment to supporting national initiatives with an institutional and future-oriented developmental dimension.
The Consul General expressed his deewp appreciation, on behalf of the government and people of Sudan, to all parties who contributed to the completion of this project. He commended the significant support provided by the Sudanese leadership, represented by the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, and the Governor of the Bank of Sudan, as well as the relevant ministries and official institutions, whose cooperation played a pivotal role in bringing the project to fruition in a commendable manner.
Ambassador Kamal stated that this project reflects the Sudanese government’s commitment to providing a permanent headquarters for the consulate, considering it a long-term institutional investment that contributes to developing consular performance and enhancing the quality of services provided to the Sudanese community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Consul also expressed his appreciation for the extensive cooperation shown by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Makkah Region branch, and the Joint Technical Committee, for their support and facilitation, which contributed to the completion of the procedures. This reflects the strength of the bilateral relations and the spirit of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The Consul General expressed his gratitude to Princess Abta bint Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, praising her generous cooperation and understanding of the arrangements required to finalize the purchase until the arrival of the official Sudanese delegation. He emphasized that this support was instrumental in completing the project in a manner befitting the deep historical ties between Sudan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Consul General affirmed that acquiring the new headquarters represents a strategic step that strengthens Sudan’s diplomatic presence and supports the development of consular services to meet current needs and serve the interests of Sudanese citizens in the Kingdom.
