Sudanese Cabinet: Government to Import Petroleum Products to Stabilize the Market

The Cabinet, in its meeting held afternoon Friday in Khartoum, chaired by Prime Minister Kamil Idris, decided that the government should import petroleum products to stabilize the market and control the exchange rate.
The relevant authorities in the Ministries of Finance and Energy, the Central Bank of Sudan, and the Economic Security Department will be responsible for implementing the decision.
The Cabinet also directed the security services to take all necessary measures to protect the national economy.
The Cabinet had listened in its Friday session to the Economic Committee concerned with discussing economic issues.
The Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Aisir, explained in a press statement that the Cabinet session was specifically dedicated to the economic issues related to petroleum products. He emphasized that this decision reflects the Cabinet’s resolve in addressing economic matters and clarified that the decision is effective with immediate effect.
