Sudanese Army Seizes Al-Rahad and Tightens Siege on Militias in the Capital

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

The Sudanese army has announced its full control over the city of Al-Rahad in North Kordofan State, a strategic move expected to lift the siege on El-Obeid, the state capital.
Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah, the official spokesperson for the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), stated:
“With the grace and support of Allah, our forces have crushed the Dagalo militia and established full control over Al-Rahad today.”
He added:
“In central Khartoum, our forces are tightening their grip on the scattered remnants of the militia.”
Advancing Towards Central Khartoum
The Sudanese army is nearing full control over central Khartoum after securing Al-Sajana Street, a major road in the southwestern part of the city centre, along with Abu Hamama Station, which serves as a key link between the city centre and southern Khartoum.
Brigadier General Nabil further stated:
“Our forces in Bahri have established full control over the entire Kafouri area and the military-industrial complex.”
Strategic Blow to the Rapid Support Forces
The recapture of Al-Rahad marks a major defeat for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in North Kordofan. It is expected to accelerate the liberation of Bara and the lifting of the siege on El-Obeid, making it only a matter of time before full control is restored.
