Sudanese Army Liberates Two Areas in Blue Nile Region

Damazin – Sudanhorizon
The 4th Infantry Division Command in Damazin announced on Thursday that its forces have seized control of two areas in the Blue Nile region.
Since January, the southern and western areas of the Blue Nile region have witnessed escalating military activity between the Sudanese Armed Forcxes (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) alliance, along with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu.
In a statement, the 4th Infantry Division Command said, “The division’s forces and their supporting forces cleared the areas of Jart Sharq and the Balamo camp after decisive battles against the rebel forces.”
The statement added that the military operation was part of ongoing battles to secure strategic areas in the southern sector, where the forces successfully repelled “the terrorist militia of the Dagalo family and the militia of the rebel Joseph Tuka.”
The division command confirmed that its forces inflicted heavy losses on the “rebels” in terms of lives and equipment, while the remnants fled the battle field. It noted that the victory comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by the leadership of the Fourth Infantry Division and the forces supporting it to enhance the security of villages and border areas, restore stability to areas affected by the presence of the militia, and open roads for citizens to return to their home areas and resume normal life.
