Cairo – Sudanhorizon
Sudan’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Lamia Abdel Ghaffar, arrived in Cairo on Thursday to participate in the proceedings of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum, scheduled to be held on 19–20 December.
Cairo is hosting the conference at the level of foreign ministers, with the participation of more than 50 African countries and a number of heads of regional organizations, building on the outcomes and results of the first ministerial conference, which was held in the Russian city of Sochi in November 2024.
The second edition of the ministerial conference will focus on issues of economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as supporting stability, peace, and security, and achieving development.
The conference is also expected to address ways to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, energy, and infrastructure, in addition to discussing issues of common interest related to security and stability in the African continent, in a manner that contributes to supporting peace and development efforts and strengthening a sustainable Russia–Africa partnership that serves mutual interests.
Two side events will also be organized on the sidelines of the ministerial conference, one focusing on “The Role of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in Enhancing Cooperation with African Countries,” and the other on “Trilateral Cooperation and Ways to Achieve Comprehensive Development.”
